Jacobs Kronung Coffee Review:

Jacobs Kronung Coffee

I received this as one of my Christmas Gifts and I have been loving every minute of this wonderful coffee. German Coffee or Jacobs Kronung Coffee – Who would have though that this would be as good as it is. I have been brewing mine in the Espro French Press Coffee Maker. Even with the very fine ground the Espro does a fantastic job of filtering out the very find grit and grounds with its double micro filtered pressing. The Kronung coffee is a little on the Medium to the stronger side however it lacks bitterness or acidity. It is a very smooth coffee it will not bite or have any bitter taste afterwards. Some would say this is a very good example of a northern European Mellow Coffee. Strong but smooth.

I have been enjoying every cup I have been drinking. The best part was when I first opened the bag. The aroma from the ground coffee was so enticing and rich. Again I was not expecting this from a German coffee. I was plesantly suprised with the wonderful aroma that was waifing out of the opened bag. As I measured the coffee into the press, added the water then waited for the coffee to be brewed. I was not sure what to expect from this brand of coffee. after I poured this into my cup and prepared my coffee. I took a sip and smiled. Yes, this coffee made me smile. I was so nice to relax and enjoy this brew. As I do quite frequently I grabbed my iPad and started to play a crossword puzzle. I might not be that good, however I really enjoy the challenge of a good word game. This was the perfect morning. No Work, some good music on the headphones, a challenging crossword puzzle and great coffee. Life could not get much better at this moment. Ahh.

The Ultra Hight Capacity - Expedition and Adventurer

The Ultra Hight Capacity – Expedition and Adventurer

Here is a project I can get behind. I have backed about 10 different Kickstarter Projects and this is another one of their amazing ideas put into actions. I am backing the Ultimate Backup Battery.  There are three different units. I backed the 11,250 mAh Battery pack. It is stated to only take 4 to 6 hours to charge and after fully charged it can charge an iPad 1.5 times and an iPhone 7 to 10 times. This unit can last between charges too. I read on their Facebook page – a 6 week test – from freezing to 120 degrees and different altitudes. The unit only lost 1/4 of its battery power. This is mainly due to the slight circuit that checks the battery usage. I used to use the Zagg Spark – but after using it for about 9 months it failed to do any charging. They were nice enough to replace it – but the replacement unit soon failed too.  3 days past their warranty period for the replacement and I was told I would need to purchase a new one.  I loved having a nice battery pack around. Long Drives, Sitting outdoors listening to music, may places there are no outlets. So I am placing an order for the Ultra – HighCapacity “The Expedition” with dual outputs. I think I am going to order the Black one. To allow me to make a few nice vinyl cut stickers to place on the unit.

OMGPop / Zynga’s Draw Something

OK, I am addicted to this game. I really is quite a fun game to play. What this game is Pictionary on Steroids. When you purchase the game you get a basic set of colors and a blank canvas. Find yourself some friends to play by Username or by friends that are playing on Facebook.  But here is a little history about OMGPop and their deal with Zynga. NYTimes did a great article on this.

I am not the best artist – and I find it sometimes frustrating not having the full set of color available right off the bat. But that is the fun of the game – you earn your color / stripes by purchasing them with the coins you earn for drawing and guessing correctly.  Currently I have 2 additional sets of color. I am close to earning my next set of colors. Just have to figure out what colors I want to purchase.

Here you can see some of the drawing people have done with Draw Something.

Draw Something - Snookie

If you really like this game I highly recommend one of the following drawing stylus.

I prefer these two:

Below are my two favorite pens for working on the iPad / iPhone

This pen is one of the firtst ones that I purchased for my iPad & iPhone. I have had this pen since 11/2010 and still working and is easy to use and handle. This is the Alupen from Just-Mobile.

The AluPen is a nice weight and feel and I love the rubber tip. It is thinner then your finger but for detail work it is a little hard to see. that is why I love the next pen. But to be honest I switch between the two quite often. Just depend on how I feel or what is close at hand at the moment.

The AluPen on the iPad screen is smooth on the screen. Very nice to work with. It really doesn’t need much of a touch for it to register. This is one of the nicest rubber tipped pens I own. I have tried a few of the cheaper ones first and they just didn’t work. I have the Pogo Stylus and it just doesnt’  draw as nice as this one does. The Mushy tip of the pogo is just too soft for me.

This rubber tip is perfect for one of my go to stylus.

The next one I show you on the right  is the Adonit Jot Pro Stylus. I backed this on KickStart and I really am glad I did this really is a nice and a very different type of stylus.

This Uses a clear disk on the tip to do its drawing. I feel this gives a more precise feel and it also glides across the screen. I also love the fact that it has a magnic in it to attach to the side of the iPad. This works really well. I have not had it fall off once..

The Adonit pen come in multiple colors and designs. Their newest also includes a pen to write on paper if you still do that. So you can doodle on paper or on your screen. Just don’t mix up the two sides. LOL

Well, Hope to see you playing Draw Something by OMG Pop / Zynga. Let me know your screen name in the comments and I will try playing a game with you.

Happy Drawing.

Best iPad Case – Official Etch A Sketch Case

Posted on September 24th, 2010 by Merlin.
Categories: Gadgets, iPad.

I need to get one of these cases – This has to be the coolest looking case made for the iPad – even better looking then the Dodo case. While it will not hide the iPad like the Dodo case it does the opposite – it shows off and makes the iPad noticed.  While this case is cool looking it is quite functional, too. HeadCase – The makers state that this case is also designed to protect the iPad too. It is made of impact resistant plastic, has rubber feet and a felt backing inside to hold the iPad gently. The etch a Sketch Ipad case also allows for easy use of all the switches, ports and buttons. This case also comes with a retractable kick stands that allow you to either lay the iPad flat, or angle it for easier usage of the iPad keyboard. Yes it has the Etch A Sketch  knobs but they are low profile and really should not get in the way of using the iPad.

The price is not too bad either – Only $39
