The Paper Email PadYes you saw that right - PAPER EMAIL - now you can have paper email in the office instead of those little pink pads that people write their memos on or while you were out pads. This is just a fun replacement for some of your office supplies that you normally take for granted. Honestly I think this pad is easier to read then the standard pink telephone call memo pad. Plus this Give you all the information in a standard format (EMAIL :-) )

Just something to have some fun with while at work.

My Favorite Pipe: The Boswell Pipe

Posted on March 18th, 2007 by Merlin.
Categories: Gadgets, Pipe, Tobacco.

The Boswell pipe: This is my favorite pipe I use when I get a chance to smoke a bowlfull of my favorite pipe tobacco. Currently I am still smoking some of Haddos Delight and I picked up some Plain Nut from my Local Smoke Shop. This boswell pipe has been with me for a few years. I got this as a gift when I started working at my last job. What a wonderful give to be given to me. This really is a nice smoker and didn’t require any break in at all.

I really like the looks and how this feels in my hand when taking a few puffs. What is pretty nice it the bowl takes a generous amount of pipe tobacco so you don’t need to re-fill it that often. This is good when you are sitting back and reading a book or doing some research on the net.

Below you can see the photo I took of it - and if you click it - It will enlarge to see more details.

The Art of Shaving: Part 2

Proraso Shave BrushToday's Installment and video is about Lathering. This is about how to get the best lather from your shave soap and brush. As I have mentioned I am new to this and I am still learning about wet-shaving as well.

I am currently using a shave brush that I bought quite inexpensivly from a local old fashioned drug store. I think I paid about $6 or $7 for this brush. This is a boars hair brush which is a little stiffer then the badgers hair brush. Honestly I prefer a stiffer brush I like the feel and the action of the brush.  If you are looking for an inexpensive brush - Head on down to Target and check out the SPA Section in the near the women's health and beauty area. They are not located where you would think they should be in the shaving isle with all the other shaving products. These products in that isle are what they consider high end. The brush you can get at Target is the Proraso Shave brush as seen in the image above. While there you can pick up a tub or tube of the Proraso shave cream/soap. This is considered a very good shave cream and make a wonderful lather. This does contain Menthol, Eucalyptus and Glycerin. This combination on the skin give a wonderful base for the shave and has a nice wake me up scent. This cream will give your face a slight tingle/cooling effect from the menthol & eucalyptus which I really enjoy. With the combination of Hot Water, Brush and Shave cream I get a much better lather on my face then I ever got from the can shaving creams. In fact I learned that many of the propellants used in the can can often dry out your skin which is not a very good thing if you want a nice close shave.

Well the video below will explain the whole process much better then I ever can. So, sit back and enjoy the show.

The Art of Shaving: Part 1 With Video

Categories: Gadgets, Hack, Health, Life, Shaving, Tutorial.

A friend of mine was telling me about the Martha Stewart Show last week where she did a special mens day all about Mens Grooming. (No, he doesnt' watch it normally - His Wife Tivo's the show and called him in to share it with him) He told me they demonstrated how to do a wet shave. You know the kind I have talked about before using a nice lather with brush and then shaving with a good razor. Well I didn't have access to the Martha Stewart show but instead I came across this video that I am about to share with you. Today is the Introductory: Part 1 on how to wet shave. But first back to Martha Stewart show. He told me they recommend this book The Art of Shaving and their shaving products. I have personally used some of the products and they are great to use (just love the scent and feel afterwards) and the feeling that you get from shaving the correct way is a pleasure and not a chore as mentioned in the following video.

Enjoy and part 2 will be coming soon.

New Product Found: Index card Holder

I just happened to be browsing for a gift I need to purchase on Amazon and I happened to see this item and thought I would share this with everyone. It is called the Deluxe Hard Wood card Holder - The Current Price is $9.32 - Below is a Photo of the item.

Amazon: Deluxe Wooden Card Holder

I can see this being used as an inexpensive alternative to the Levenger Index card holder. This seems to have a nice angle and has 4 row that can hold quite a few cards. This can be a nice 3×5 Index card Tickler Device. Simple and Effective to use. And it doesn't look that bad either.

Sim Aquarium - Free Simulation Game

Sim Aquarium - Free Simulation Game While you BrowseFor some strange reason I enjoy relaxing while looking at some fish swim by and when I was using my Opera Browser the other day I got to play with SimAquarium.

I usually switch up between Firefox or Opera depending on what I am doing. (Yes, I rarely use IE much anymore - And I suggest the same to you - Check out BrowseHappy.com and See why IE is NOT SAFE)

The Opera Browser has what they call Opera Widgets that you can use to enhance the Opera Browser. One of the new and popular widgets is the SimAquarium - This aquarium gives you $100 to start out with - where you have to purchase some fish - and hope they breed. After you have a few baby fish you can sell them back to the store to allow you to upgrade your lights, backgrounds, filters, and buy other types of fish.

Bonus - Build up your Money and get to purchase a Dolphin for your Aquarium.

Just Found - Tornado Elite Pencil

I totally forgot that I even owned this pencil The Retro 51 Tornado Elite Pencil - I was received this Mechanical Pencil over 2 Years Ago and I thought I has lost this forever when one day it just dissapeared.

Retro 51 Tornado Elite Pencil

But so I happened to be digging in one of my Photography bags and low and behold this was stuck at the bottom just waiting to be found again. I really like this Mechanical Pencil as it was so classy looking but has an aire about itself.

The one I received was the Stainless Steel Version with a beautiful matte finish to it. The clip is very strong and will hold this pencil in place where ever you put it. (Unless You don't clip it to anything like me and Don't check the bottom of the bag Frown)

I bought this to go along with my Business Card / reporter style notebook (Another Gift as well). I was using this to take notes and sketches while shooting some photographs. It was the prefect size too only 3.5 Inches long and clipped to the Reporter Notebook Easily and it stayed in place.

What I really liked about it was the Lead Size. This Pencil Requires a 1.1mm Lead which is a much heavier line then the standard .5mm or .7 Mechanical Pencils. Plus I loved the fact that this was a twist knob top to advance the lead. This is just one very stylish looking mechanical pencil. I was upset when I could not find this pencil anymore (well more possibly upset over the cost of it and that I only had it several months)

The Current price of this Retro 51 Elite Pencil is $14.95 with a few extra leads. It was just the right price. Not too expensive but still not cheap.

I think I will be using this again for quick sketches I make and ideas. Plus this clips onto my Leather Jacket I made for my Miquelrius Journal nicely So I can have both Fountain Pen and Pencil within Easy Access.

The only drawback is that it doesn't come with an eraser built onto this pencil. So, if you need to erase something you need to carry an eraser pen with you. This doesn't bother me as I like to doodle and draw with it thus I don't need the eraser portion.

Can be Bought as "The Writers Edge
