I love reading about ways to try and make you smarter and the various tricks that can be used to help you look at life a little differently. Today I found an interesting article on 22 ways to overclock your brain. I have to admit some of the ways are common sense that we have heard for years. Such as Item #11: Be a Thinker – Not a Drinker. Remember that drinking helps kill off some of your brain cells when you get drunk but moderate drinking can help the brain latter in life.
Rule #12 is Fun – PLAY – Thats right play a game, do a puzzle, have fun but make sure you are doing an activity that challenges your brain.
But I have to say Rule #16 Passion – Do what you are passionate about – I do that everyday and work and play and read about the things in life that make me tick and want to live. I love learning new and creative things, I love learning more about blogs and blogging, I love Photography, and that is all the things that keep me going. I firmly believe in this rule.
Now go out and have some fish – it is lent…

I have previously purchased some steaks from Omaha Steak Company and they are good. But by chance I got to try out some Steaks and Crabcakes from Sunrise Foods. All I can say is wow.
Yes every once in a while I like to invite a few friends over and have dinner and a movie. In fact we each share this task and cook dinner and share our favorite movies. Well, This time it was my turn and I went all out on the shindig this past weekend.
My friend Tom is who first introduced me to and told me to try out the home delivered foods from Sunrise Foods as they were the best he has ever tried.
Well, I visited their website and ordered their # 1 Sampler Pack (Crab Cakes and Garlic Lemon Chicken) and a package of steaks from them. The price was much better then when I purchased in the past from Omaha Steaks and I can honestly say the steaks are much much better as well.

My dinner included 3 friends and myself. What I prepared was a salad (Fresh Greens, some onions, tomatoes, and cukes), a baked potato, a green bean casserole, and a Delmonico steak for each of us.
My friend Dave bought the wine a wonderful Merlot a Yellowtail Merlot from Australia – it paired nicely with the Delmonico Steak.
I cooked the steaks on a small propane grill that I have (I wish I had a bigger one) I didn't do anything to add flavoring or rub the steak with anything as I wanted to taste the true flavor of the meat. Plus I really dispise when you order a steak like at Outback Steakhouse and they "Flavor" it with their savory spices. I feel this ruins the true flavor of the steak.
The Green Bean Casserole Turned out wonderfully – I got the recipe here
I did nothing special with the baked potatoes except serve it with some sour cream, butter and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese. I used a toaster oven set at 400 degrees and poked holes in the potato with a fork and set them in the oven for about 45 mins.
The dinner went well – Everyone absolutly loved the Steaks they just melted in the mouth and was full of flavor. The flavor was as I said earlier the best I have ever bought – I would highly recommend Sunrise Foods to anyone.
Dessert was just as remarkable – Heather brought dessert. That was a cheese cake from the cheesecake factory (She said she picked it up at Costco in their frozen food section) we got to pair that with a glass of Lindaman's Framboise Beer (raspberry). This paired so nicely with the cheesecake. I would recommend Framboise Beer. The history and how they make this beer is quite impressive and informative.
The movies I picked out for the evening were Casino and Citizens Kane – Both really good. Again movies I would recommend if you have never seen them before or really worth adding to your dvd movie collection. We didn't get to watch both as we ended up talking and laughing most of the evening.
I can't wait until the next Dinner and Movie Night.
I want to thank my friend Tom for first introducing me to Sunrise Foods where I got to try the best Crab Cakes I ever had. They were huge and full of Crab Meat and no bread crumbs. Can't wait to try out the ones I purchased. Hmm maybe I will have some for dinner tonight.

Right now I am just going to write a small brief post as I just wanted to get this off of my chest.
Officially – I Hate Winter
Easy enough – It is too cold here Right now it is 12 Degrees and it went up to a high of 21 degrees. (Party in the Tropics)
I had no problem cleaning off my vehicle – The hard part was being blocked in with all the snow the snow plow man (Sorry – Person) pushed up against the side of the vehicle. Plus then we had freezing rain and the "Snow" became a mound of Ice Encrusted Snow. Too many hours trying to dig the vehicle out of the snow.
I just want a Calgon Moment or even better look online at the travel sites and order a nice hotel room where the temp starts with a 8 and it is not a single digit.
Boy right now I could use a nice hot tub, with a ocean view, as I listen to the ocean's surf crashing on the beach. Ahhh

Or even something like this Beach View.
Hmm – Where did I put that number to the travel agent – I need to book a hotel room soon and thaw out.

I just wanted to write a review of my current favorite pipe tobacco that I got my hands on recently. It is called Haddo's Delight by G.L. Pease.
Here is what it states on the back of the can:
Haddo's Delight is a stout blend of virginia tobaccos with a generous measure of long-cut perique. Unflavored black cavendish and a little air-cured ribbon provide fullness, body and a bit of extra strength. An exclusive process then darkens and marries the mixture. The Flavor is full on the palate, earthly, slightly sweet and intriquingly piquant, with overtones of figs and raisins. A wonderful blend for the perique lover.
I have to agree – when you take in the smell from the can it is slightly sweet to the smell (I thought it smelled like raisins as well) I did find when I first opened the can that this tobacco was a little too moist and didn't really like this right out of the can. I put this aside for a few weeks and when I got back to it it was much drier and the taste from the pipe was a much smoother more flavorful blend. Several of the reviews on Tobacco Reviews also state the same thing. While I smoke this tobacco – I feel it is somewhat earthy with a wonderful spicy taste. I really love how much flavor comes through the whole smoke. The Smoke is very pleasant and inviting not harsh to the nose. I highly recommend this smoke but open the can and let it acclimate to the climate and dry out a tad to become I am sure a favorite of yours as well.
This tobacco can be a nice addition to a nice glass of scotch and a relaxing evening. Check out my friends blog for a good recommendation for a wonderful scotch.
You can read the reviews here at Tobacco Review.

Had to share this wallpaper I found on Anabubula.com – A very simple message – Never get so busy making a living that your forget to make a LIFE! – A very simple message that everyone should remember.
Are you putting your real life on hold while you are at work trying to make a life that you forget you already have a life? Sometimes people put making money higher on their list of priorities then actually having a life. Do you remember your Friends, Family, etc while you are putting your career ahead of your life. What good does having money and that next bigger and better item if you are not there to share and use the rewards of your hard work. Remember there really is more to life then just making money. Questions to ask yourself? Does your son await you to come home from work to play with you but you work late and put your family second? Do you cancel time out with friends to stay at the office – You need to make time for yourself to live and enjoy life to the fullest. This reminds me of that quote of the old man on his death bed saying I wish I stayed at the office longer, I wish I skipped lunches out in the park, I wish I put off the hikes in the park to work more. Of course you will never hear that. So what are your priorities in life? Today is that day that you sit back – take a deep breath and see where you are going, what you are doing, and use all the tools you may have at your finger tips (GTD, Organization Tools, Franklin Covey System, Index Cards, Notecards, etc…) and set your priorities. Make sure you schedule some time for yourself and MAKE A LIFE.
