My Favorite Pipe: The Boswell Pipe

The Boswell pipe: This is my favorite pipe I use when I get a chance to smoke a bowlfull of my favorite pipe tobacco. Currently I am still smoking some of Haddos Delight and I picked up some Plain Nut from my Local Smoke Shop. This boswell pipe has been with me for a few years. I got this as a gift when I started working at my last job. What a wonderful give to be given to me. This really is a nice smoker and didn’t require any break in at all.

I really like the looks and how this feels in my hand when taking a few puffs. What is pretty nice it the bowl takes a generous amount of pipe tobacco so you don’t need to re-fill it that often. This is good when you are sitting back and reading a book or doing some research on the net.

Below you can see the photo I took of it – and if you click it – It will enlarge to see more details.

The Blue Man Group: Music Art

Tonight I got to talking to some friends about one of my absolute favorite music groups – The Blue Man Group. I have seen then Three Different times here in Pittsburgh (Once at The Coke a Cola Starlake Amphitheater – Once at the AJ Palumbo Center @ Duquesne University and Then Once at the Mellon (Civic Arena).  Besides seeing them here in Pittsburgh, I have also seen then when I was in Boston, MA and Have seen then Twice in Las Vegas. (But I can't Talk about that Remember what Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas {wink} {Wink}. So if you ever get a chance to see them do yourself a favor and go. You will not be disappointed. Just one word of warning. Don't show up late. They like to make fun of the people by putting them in the spot lite as they come in. It is alot of fun. Plus If you show up late you get to miss the famous LED signs that get the audience participating in the show before the show even starts. Plus now you can even text message the signs with your cell phone and have your messages appear and get some good laughs.

I have to say the Las Vegas shows were fun and the theater was built for them so it really is a great place to see them – But the Show in Boston was FANTASTIC the theater is quite small compared to the other theaters but I got some fantastic close up seats. I almost got some paint on me.

If you can't get to Vegas I would recommend getting a copy of the Blue Men Group DVD @ Amazon  Or you can get a Blue Man Group CD From Amazon As Well.

But now for your Enjoyment from You Tube – The Blue Man Group – Playing a Pipe and not smoking a pipe.

Tobacco Review: Haddo’s Delight

Haddo's Delight - My Current Favorite Pipe TobaccoI just wanted to write a  review of my current favorite  pipe tobacco  that I got my hands on recently. It is called Haddo's Delight by G.L. Pease.

Here is what it states on the back of the can:

Haddo's Delight is a stout blend of virginia tobaccos with a generous measure of long-cut perique. Unflavored black cavendish and a little air-cured ribbon provide fullness, body and a bit of extra strength. An exclusive process then darkens and marries the mixture. The Flavor is full on the palate, earthly, slightly sweet and intriquingly piquant, with overtones of figs and raisins. A wonderful blend for the perique lover.

I have to agree – when you take in the smell from the can it is slightly sweet to the smell (I thought it smelled like raisins as well) I did find when I first opened the can that this tobacco was a little too moist and didn't really like this right out of the can. I put this aside for a few weeks and when I got back to it it was much drier and the taste from the pipe was a much smoother more flavorful blend. Several of the reviews on Tobacco Reviews also state the same thing. While I smoke this tobacco – I feel it is somewhat earthy with a wonderful spicy taste. I really love how much flavor comes through the whole smoke. The Smoke is very pleasant and inviting not harsh to the nose. I highly recommend this smoke but open the can and let it acclimate to the climate and dry out a tad to become I am sure a favorite of yours as well.

This tobacco can be a nice addition to a nice glass of scotch and a relaxing evening. Check out my friends blog for a good recommendation for a wonderful scotch

You can read the reviews here at Tobacco Review

The Original Page for this on G.L. Pease is here.

BUT Wait – Podcast Pickle and Group have produced "A Podcast Christmas Carol" It is a modernization of the traditional Christmas Carol Story. I heard it last evening on my XM as I was listening to the David Lawrence Show. (BTW Great Show to Listen To) David Lawrence is the main actor in this story as Scrooge. There is quite a cast too boot. Too Many to mention here – But I listened to this and really enjoyed the story. But for a few moments of Christmas Joy Check out The Santa Dance – A Hamster Dance Type of page featuring the True Meaning of Christmas – (Hover Your Cursor over each Dancing Santa To Read it) – This page has been around for over 8 years now and still going pretty strong. Spread the word and share the true meaning of Christmas.
